Over the course of two decades High Peaks Mountain Adventures has vigilantly sought out valuable insights from our students, clients, and personal research so that we can provide you with a positive climbing experience in the Adirondacks.

We have specially designed our rock climbing classes to include plenty of hands on instruction while being loads of fun. Our professional guides will help to facilitate the development of your skills and techniques that will give you the confidence to either take the first step on the rock if you have never climbed before, or help you to reach new climbing heights.  Whether you are a beginner wanting to give climbing a go, or have years of experience and want professional instruction to help bring your climbing skills to the next level; our professional guides at High Peaks Mountain Adventures will help you to achieve your goals and dreams, and exceed your expectations in the process.

The courses and adventures outlined below can all be customized to meet your specific needs. When you make your booking we will spend time assessing your current skill level to ascertain exactly what it is you are looking for. Your climbing experience with High Peaks Mountain Adventures will provide you with fond memories which will last a lifetime.

Cost for all rock climbing instruction:

$300.00 per day for 1 or 2 climbers and $100.00 for each additional person.

$240.00 per 1/2 day for 1 to 3 climbers and $60.00 for each additional person.

Introduction to Rock Climbing

At High Peaks Mountain Adventures we enjoy sharing our passion with others.  We hope that we can help others discover what they are passionate about in the process.  Our Introduction to Rock Climbing course is designed to inspire a love of climbing in a safe, beautiful, and comfortable environment which is perfect for kids and families. Our State licensed guides are experts in Adirondack rock and are schooled in the newest and safest methods available.  If you are interested in rock climbing for the first time or are a beginner in need of some experience this course is for you!

  • How to put on and adjust a harness, helmet and shoes.
  • Properly tie basic knots.
  • Voice commands and safety practices at the cliff.
  • Basic footwork and climbing techniques.
  • How to descend after climbing on a top rope.
  • How to lower a climber on a top rope.

Top Rope Essentials

Top Rope Essentials is designed for the climber who has some experience on the rock or in the gym and wants to hone their skills, learn more, or just get out for a day on the rock. Great for individuals or groups with a similar level of experience.

  • Review of Intro Course Skills.
  • Belay safely using proper technique.
  • Do an assisted Rappel on a fixed line.
  • Use your feet to climb better.
  • Be safe in and around the cliff.

Advanced Rock Climbing 

Take your rock climbing to new heights with a multi-pitch climb!  This course is for anyone with previous rock climbing experience interested in learning advanced moves and techniques on longer and steeper routes. The day will include following a leader on a multi-pitch climb and learning how to work with cams, nuts, and other protection.
